Christine graduated in 1998 and after 20 years in hotels – with her final position as General Manager of Mount Juliet Estate – she followed her other passion an founded >> Urban Aran.
Urban Aran, an Irish Company based in Co. Waterford enhance’s Irish traditions in a contemporary Aran era using only natural fibres. In the 1950’s women knitted Aran patterns with intricate detail using traditional white bainin yarn made from sheep’s wool. A myriad of knitting stitches brought tremendous skill to bear in the creation of mainly sweaters. Urban Aran is inspired by these techniques merging heritage skills with chic simplicity.
