The Shannon Branch of the Irish Hotels Federation honoured our recently retired members of staff with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Midwest Tourism Ball, April 17th 2023.
Dr Phillip Smyth, former Head of School and Ms Kate O’Connell, former Deputy Head of School both retired from Shannon College of Hotel Management this academic year. Phillip retired in November 2022 after 34 years and Kate retired at the end of March after almost 23 years.
In recognition of the immense contribution that they both made to the industry, they were honoured with these very special awards. It was such a special occasion that they celebrated with former colleagues, alumni and friends.
