The Class of 1987 returned to Shannon College In November 2023 to celebrate 40 years since first starting in Shannon. 19 alumni returned – many of them for the very first time since graduating 36 years ago! It was also the first time that many classmates had met up since their student days – a very special occasion and wonderful to see.
They travelled from Bahamas, Cyprus, Mexico, USA and the UK to celebrate their friendship and remember classmates that they have lost – Jack O’Donoghue, Mickey Kular, Richard O’Sullivan and Colm Hannon.
3 of the class have children who are currently students in Shannon – it was lovely to share the photo of their children holding the SCHM Heritage Crest.
They had lunch in the O’Regan Restaurant, met the Year 4 students for a Q&A and viewed archive memorabilia after lunch before heading off for some more reminiscing in Durty Nellies!
