Gerard Dallaghan (1954) R.I.P.
Gerry Dallaghan was a member of the first ever class in Shannon College so we were very sad to hear of his passing this Thursday, February 24th 2022.
Gerry lived a fulfilled life, born in Balinrobe, Co. Mayo and educated at Blackrock College before joining Shannon College of Hotel Management in 1951.
Many alumni who were in Shannon in the 1980’s will remember Gerry as General Manager of the International Hotel in Shannon Airport (now the Park Inn), when the students lived in the hotel. On hindsight, I’d say having the 300’s and 400’s full of students was a daily challenge for him!
Our thoughts are with Gerry’s wife Anne Carmel who is also a graduate of Shannon College, hos children, family, classmates and a wide circle of friends.
